Cites Yahu Blackwell, “My team and I are ecstatic about this launch. We originally planned this as a fighting game app, but I’m always looking for and reaching to the next frontier. Cryptocurrency is the next frontier and merging our game into that space seemed like a perfect marriage. So, we delayed our original launch and went back to the drawing board. I’m now offering gamers a unique opportunity to not only fight in a virtual boxing ring but to also explore this new realm of digital currency. What Madden did for the game industry is what Crypto Boxers is going to do for cryptocurrency.”

Andrew Gilliam, Blackwell’s manager and consultant also offers, “Crypto Boxers is the next logical step up over PlayStation. The game allows the player the opportunity to not only compete, but to also earn money upon winning. The game’s virtual boxers will not only battle in virtual reality matches, but they will also earn digital rewards for their wins!”
“This game will be the closest thing to getting in an actual ring with your gloves on!” cites referee Joe Cortez. “You think you got what it takes to be a professional boxer? You think you can beat enough opponents to earn your way to a title? Then bring it to Crypto Boxers!”

’70s Soul Singer, The Natural Four’s Chris Bell, Pens Revealing Memoir “Music Saved My Live”

Book Trailer for
Book Trailer for “Music Saved My Life” by Chris James from the Natural Four

Atlanta, GA – A good old school love song can take you on a journey and incite the resurgence of memories long gone. The 1973 hit “Can This Be Real” is a prime example. The melody was a Top 40 break through on the R&B charts and The Natural Four were the singular force behind the hit. Ollan Christopher Bell, better known at Chris James knows first-hand about song-induced travels. The Natural Four was his group and in his newly released memoirs “Music Saved My Life, From Darkness Into The Light, My Life As A 70’s R&B/Soul Singer” he takes us on an intimate trek through his life and times.

The Natural Four originally formed in 1967 in Oakland, CA and started receiving notoriety in the early ’70’s after signing to Curtis Mayfield’s label, Curtom Records. To date, Mayfield is still one of the most influential creators behind soul music. The group reigned under the production of Leroy Hutson, the former lead singer of R&B vocal group, The Impressions. From 1972 to 1976 the Natural Four toured the United States and appeared at major venues including the Apollo Theater. They also appeared on numerous top TV shows including Soul Train and American Bandstand. After releasing a string of hits inside of three albums, The Natural Four called it quits in the mid ’70’s.
In “Music Saved My Life,” James takes us back to his early days growing up in Oakland. He started his music career at the age of 10 playing the bass guitar and at the age of 12 he performed his first singing solo.  His musical background originated in the church and from his mother, who was also a professional singer. With poignant detail, James recollects how music has been his lifesaver from childhood into adulthood. The reader travels with him through a dysfunctional childhood with an abusive and controlling mother. His turbulent relationship with his mother unfortunately set the precedent for countless encounters with bullies throughout his life, including his first wife of over 20 years. “Music Saved My Love,” recalls a life riddled with regrets while seemingly filled with career successes.
James has performed and shared the stage with legendary artists such as Earth, Wind and Fire, The Temptations, Kool and the Gang, the Isley Brothers and his former producer Curtis Mayfield. With more than 200 songs composed and distributed on various albums throughout the world, his discography is more than impressive. However, the man behind the music seldom knew inner peace. Life on the road in the ’70’s was riddled with drama, drugs and busted dreams, while life at home reflected much of the same.
Zakiya Hooker and husband, Chris James

Today, James is happily married to Zakiya Hooker, the daughter of the late great blues icon, John Lee Hooker.  In addition to producing all five of Zakiya’s albums, he also produced the final John Lee Hooker CD “Face to Face.” In addition, James is also the president and co-owner of the John Lee Hooker Boom Boom Recording Studio in Douglasville, Georgia.

“Music has been the salve for my tormented soul. It has been a lifesaver and redeemer for me. As a veteran of the music business, I watch young artists today and recognize the telltale signs that betray that all is not well. Having survived five decades in the industry, and still being sustained by doing what I love, I’m hoping that my book will give hope and credence to not only artists, but anyone in need of healing,” offers James. “When I look back on my life, I never would have dreamed of the peace and happiness that was just waiting for me. So many of my contemporaries are no longer here. Music is one of God’s ultimate healers and I have a testimony to prove it.”
James now finds himself touring around the world and spending most of his time in South America, with a home base in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he has become a well-recognized recording and performing artist. His smooth vocals still reflect the warm timbre, control and range that resonates throughout the catalogue of the Natural Four as he trains and produces singers from Paris, Japan, England, South America and the US. His last project was a compilation of jazz standards entitled, “Tenderly, Unplugged.”
“Music Saved My Life, From Darkness Into The Light, My Life As A 70’s R&B/Soul Singer” takes the reader between the notes as Chris James navigates his troubles while rubbing shoulders with some of R&B’s greatest legends, including Curtis Mayfield, Sly Stone and Isaac Hayes.

0

Baltimore, MD – Recovering addict, Tonier Cain-Muldrow, was granted special recognition from Baltimore’s State’s Attorney, Marilyn Mosby, for her efforts to construct healthier communities and her dedication to raising awareness and providing resources for trauma survivors and the re-entry population. The honor was presented during a black-tie gala held last week as part of the second annual Healing Neen Trauma-Informed Care Conference hosted by the nonprofit organization, Neen Cares.

“It is such an honor to know that Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby knows my name – and its not for an indictment,” said Cain-Muldrow. The founder and president of Neen Cares continues with humor, “To receive a certificate from the state that doesn’t say the state versus Tonier Cain shows me that my message that where there is breath there is hope is reaching people in high places that can make changes in the way they treat homeless, incarcerated, and drug addicted populations.”

During her 19-year crack addiction, Cain-Muldrow racked up 83 arrests and 66 convictions. She turned to prostitution to pay for drugs, lost custody of four children, and, when she wasn’t locked up, she slept under a bridge in Annapolis, MD. Since completing treatment in 2005, she has become a celebrated speaker and trauma care expert and even testified before Congress and lectured at Yale University. She authored a poignant memoir, “Healing Neen,” and has a feature-length documentary of the same name, exposing her traumatic childhood filled with abuse, rape and neglect. There is a docu-series in development chronicling her and her husband, Adrian Muldrow’s work in the community, and her second book, “Relationships After Trauma,” is due out March 2018.

Themed “Together We Are the Resolution,” the conference convened experts from across the country to discuss how to train and empower local communities to implement trauma-informed approaches to combating drug addiction, violence and other issues plaguing America. The participants were treated to a moving performance by award-winning minister, author and singer, Stacey Lattisaw, during the closing event.

Neen Cares is a Maryland based nonprofit organization providing trauma treatment, peer support, healthy lifestyle coaching, substance abuse counseling, prison re-entry assistance, and therapy. Programs include a mini basketball camp, football clinic, and the annual Healing Neen Trauma-Informed Care Conference. For more information on their services and programs visit www.neencares.org.

President Barack Obama, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Dr. Christine King Farris and Ambassador Andrew Young Acknowledge Dr. Joseph E. Lowery’s 96th Birthday

Keithh_David2Atlanta, GA – While President Barack Obama and Congresswoman Maxine Waters sent birthday greetings, Ambassador Andrew Young, Martin Luther King III and Dr. Martin L. King Jr’s sister, Dr. Christine King Farris were among celebrities and dignitaries on hand in Atlanta to acknowledge the 96th birthday of civil rights leader and former King confidant, Dr. Joseph E. Lowery.

The historical evening was made most memorable when OWN’s “Greenleaf” star and singer Keith David; Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne” star and vocalist, Cassandra “Cassi” Davis; and gospel superstar, Yolanda Adams, mesmerized the audience with a stellar musical tribute that encapsulated the life of the well-loved nonagenarian. The Joseph and Evelyn Lowery Institute (Lowery Institute) hosted the gala which also featured Lowery Institute Change Agents packing the stage to honor the Dr. Lowery with raised fists and taking a knee.

will_packer_angela_ryeThemed “Grounded in History: Soaring Towards The Future,” the Lowery Institute also awarded movie producer, Will Packer, attorney Angela Rye, and activist Rev. William Barber, for continuing the national dialogue in support of justice and human rights, and keeping the Lowery’s legacies alive as agents of change in their respective fields.

“The evening truly epitomized my dad’s life,” said Dr. Lowery’s daughter and president of the Lowery Institute, Cheryl Lowery. “People from all walks of life made it out to celebrate and producer, Kenneth Green, created an engaging musical experience, masterfully weaving elements of my mother and father’s work as agents of change juxtaposed with the Lowery Institute Change Agents who will continue to keep their legacy alive. He was able to tell their stories using all types of music from hip hop to the Morehouse College Glee Club.”

Yolanda_Adams2Chronicling Dr. Lowery and his late wife, Dr. Evelyn Gibson’s contributions to the Civil Rights Movement as well as the initiatives utilized by the Lowery Institute’s Change Agents to carry on the legacy, the tribute featured a medley of musical “moments” spread throughout the night that included topics like “Building A Legacy”, “Amazing Grace,” “A Change is Gonna Come,” “Make Them Hear You,” and “Am I Wrong.”

The opening “moment” of the homage, “They Will Remember You,” showcased a hip hop song of the same name detailing Rev. Lowery’s work to address racism, violence and injustice performed by Salim Bakari, Michael Nero and Sara Davenport. The song’s lyrics and music were composed by Jevares Myric and Ronve O’Daniel.

During Dr. Lowery’s standing-room-only after party, he commented on the current condition of black America telling Roland Martin, host of TV One’s NewsOne Now, “There’s never been a time when we should be more united. Never been a time when we should be more together. I appreciate the fact that so many Black folks are coming together expressing in their own way their determination to move forward.”

Presented by Delta Air Lines and The Coca-Cola Company, the bi-annual birthday celebration raises funds to support the work of the Lowery Institute, a non-profit organization established to ensure the continuity of Dr. Lowery and his late wife, Dr. Evelyn Gibson’s lifelong commitment to non-violent advocacy.

Known as the “Dean” of the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Lowery assumed and executed a diverse series of roles over the span of his seven decades: leader, pastor/preacher, servant, father, husband, freedom fighter and advocate. Two major milestones during his journey came in 2009 when he delivered the benediction during President Obama’s Inauguration and later that year when President Obama awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of his lifelong commitment to the nonviolent struggle for justice, human rights, economic equality, voting rights, peace and human dignity.

Los Angeles – What if God and the Devil were to draft their own major league baseball teams with the greatest players, living and dead, and the fate of mankind was contingent on whose team won? The Celestial Baseball Association (CBA) plans to take that storyline and ‘knock it out the park’ with the announcement that veteran filmmaker Foster Corder has secured the film rights to their book, “Old Timers Day: As Told by God to Richard LoPresto.” Authored by Richard LoPresto and co-written with Jerry Schafer, “Old Timers Day” is an epic tale about the forces of “Good vs. Evil” battling on the baseball field.
In “Old Timers Day: As Told by God to Richard LoPresto,”God Almighty and Satan the Devil face off and make their team selections, agreeing that once the game is in progress, neither of them can have anything whatsoever to do with end result. The beloved pastime transforms into an extreme sport of ‘Winner Takes All’ as the instant the game is over, the loser will be stricken from the mind of man and from the annals of history forever! “Old Timers Day” details great sports trivia and interesting historical facts as the opposing teams comprise over 100 of the greatest baseball players of all time, joined by legendary baseball managers, umpires, coaches and announcers.

“With the World Series and the Weinstein case trending, ‘Old Timers Day’ is extremely timely,” cites Corder. “Hollywood needs a moral cleansing and this movie is the perfect antidote. Can you imagineWill Smith playing the great right fielder Roberto Clemente and Arnold Schwarzenegger playing outfielder Ty Co

bb? How about the casting for the New York Yankees outfielder Aaron James Judge, or the Miami Marlins left fielder Ichiro Suzuki, because of course these guys would have to be included as players! I’m hoping to take meetings with producers like J. J. Abrams, Thomas Tull and Brian Grazer as we garner Hollywood’s interest in the movie. ‘Old Timers Day’ literally has the potential to be one of the greatest inspirational films ever made!”
“As a Brooklyn native, ‘Old Timers Day’ was always a specialday at the ballpark for me when I was growing up. So, imagine my surprise one day when I was attending, Central Christian Church in Henderson, Nevada, and God spoke to me and told me I was chosen to write a story called ‘Old Timers Day,'” reveals LoPresto. “As God continued to share this vision with me during my church visits I found myself writing endless notes. I was prompted to go to my best friends, Jerry Schafer and Brian Levine for assistance. Together, following the notes I had taken and adding my expertise on the subject of baseball, Schafer and I co-authored this very special book, with the Lord’s guidance.”

Author Richard LoPresto
“I’ve written and produced everything from Las Vegas shows to major motion films, but I can honestly say, this is the first time I’ve taken direct dictation from God,” adds Schafer. “My involvement with ‘Old Timers Day’ is a career highlight as it is a true tale of heroic proportions. The DangerMan Super Suit
is the First Real Life Black Superhero Costume
Los Angeles – Halloween night just got safer! America’s Real Life Urban Super Hero, DangerMan, will roam the streets trick-or-treating with the likes of Superman, Batman and Spider-Man as the new DangerMan Super Suit is now available for kids! Actor and mentor Roger I. Tinsley, the founder of the DangerMan Urban Superhero brand and CEO/President of the DangerMan Education Foundation, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, has released the new costume just in time for the holidays. The super suits are available for purchase online at www.dangermanheroawards.com. More than a Halloween novelty however, the DangerMan Urban Superhero Super Suit is also the perfect holiday and year-round gift, designed to boost self-esteem, confidence and courage in young children.
Tinsley first introduced DangerMan to America in 1998 after being emotionally impacted by the death of a four-year-old. The toddler was tragically killed on her birthday by a stray bullet from gang-related gun fire. Tinsley felt compelled to create a real life super hero who could serve as a role model for school age children in under served communities while addressing issues that specifically effected them. Using his own money and resources he created DangerMan, the Urban Super Hero.

“As a kid who grew up on superheroes, I am beyond thrilled to know that boys and girls can now emulate DangerMan, and everything he stands for, with their very own costume.” cites Tinsley. “In fact, with the growing popularity in mythic figures like Black Panther, it is also interesting to note that this is the first time in American history that there is a super suit costume for kids that represents a ‘real life’ Black super hero.”

DangerMan, Urban Superhero

DangerMan visits schools and community events encouraging his audience with a motto of “No gangs, guns, drugs, alcohol or tobacco.” He has traveled throughout America and Haiti, empowering children to live their best life. “Protect, Promote and Provide” are the pillars DangerMan lives by.

Tinsley credits Marvel comic book legend Stan Lee for a great portion of his inspiration and success. He achieved a career highlight when Lee met and personally congratulated DangerMan on his superhero feats of worldwide motivation.

DangerMan has steadily evolved into the fastest growing super hero brand in the world and will celebrate a 20-year anniversary in 2018. The Second Annual DangerMan Hero Awards Show in slated for December 9 at the California African American Museum to honor local community heroes and the DangerMan Super Hero newspaper will debut in November. “Think Like A Man” producer, Will Packer; pastor and activist,
Reverend Dr. William Barber; and attorney, Angela Rye;
among the honorees for the evening
Atlanta, GA – Five-time gospel Grammy winner, Yolanda Adams and Emmy Award winning actor, Keith David, the star of OWN’s megachurch drama “Greenleaf,” will be the featured entertainment on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, when celebrities, dignitaries and activists from around world descend upon Atlanta to pay tribute to the “dean” of the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Joseph Lowery, for his 96th birthday celebration. “Think Like A Man” producer, Will Packer; pastor and activist, Reverend Dr. William Barber; and attorney, Angela Rye; will be among the honorees for the evening hosted by the Joseph and Evelyn Lowery Institute for Justice & Human Rights (Lowery Institute). A musical extravaganza, the gala begins at 7:00 p.m., with a reception at 6:00 p.m. at The Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University.
“We’re excited to have the torchbearer for gospel and inspirational music, Yolanda Adams, perform,” expressed Cheryl Lowery, president of the Lowery Institute. “And accomplished actor, Keith David, who plays Bishop James on Oprah Winfrey’s “Greenleaf” series, will be lending his amazing vocals in song as well! Back in the day civil rights activists didn’t have much more than good intentions and good Godly music to keep them motivated and resilient. These two powerful voices will uplift us with the kind of Godly music that will empower future generations.”
The musical tribute, produced by Kenneth Green, will highlight milestones in Dr. Lowery’s lifelong commitment to the nonviolent fight for voting rights, economic equality and social justice. Nearly 100 of the Lowery Institute’s Change Agents will take part in the program to let Dr. Lowery know that his legacy is secure with them.  Change Agents are college students trained at the Lowery Institute then assigned to elementary, middle and high schools to teach the principles of nonviolence coupled with conflict management and social and self-awareness.
Lowery says, in their respective areas, the honorees epitomize the theme of the event, Grounded in History: Soaring Towards the Future. “They understand the nexus between our past and our future. Will Packer is not only telling our stories, he is committed to employing and uplifting people of color. Rev. Barber is continuing the fight for justice with a focus on morality, and Angela Rye represents a new generation of fierce, educated activists.”
Receiving the Civil and Human Rights Award, Rev. Barber is Pastor of Greenleaf Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Goldsboro, North Carolina and architect of the Forward Together Moral Movement that gained national acclaim with its Moral Monday protests. The actions drew thousands of moral witnesses to the state legislature and resulted in more than 1,050 peaceful protesters being arrested, handcuffed and jailed.
Angela Rye will receive the Social Justice Award. The CNN political commentator and NPR analyst is the CEO of IMPACT Strategies, a nonprofit organization that seeks to encourage young professionals in economic empowerment, civic engagement, and political involvement.  Rye served as executive director and general counsel to the Congressional Black Caucus and was senior advisor to the House Committee on Homeland Security under the leadership of Congressman Bennie G. Thompson.
Determined to prove that black films sell, the Servant Leadership honoree, Will Packer, is one of the only African American film producers that has had eight films open number one at the box office. The Emmy-nominated producer’s most recent film, “Girls Trip”, is the first entirely black-led movie to make more than $130M. Packer also served as executive producer of “Roots,” a remake of one of the most celebrated TV programs of all time.

Presented by Delta Airlines and The Coca-Cola Company, the bi-annual birthday celebration raises funds to support the work of the Lowery Institute, a non-profit organization established to ensure the continuity of the advocacy of Dr. Lowery and his late wife Dr. Evelyn Gibson Lowery, with regard to their lifelong commitment to non-violent advocacy, and the moral, ethical, and theological imperative of justice and human rights for all people. Media sponsors of the event include Atlanta Tribune: The Magazine and Jazz 91.9 WCLK.
